JUNIOR FIREFIGHTING
The LLVFD's probationary junior program is designed for motivated young individuals ages 14-18 who are interested in serving their community and exploring a future in the fire service. At LLVFD we believe strong firefighters start as strong students. All probationary juniors are required to maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA (C+) grade average in school. Academic performance demonstrates responsibility, discipline, and time management which are the same qualities required to succeed in the fire service.
We expect our probationary juniors to show dedication in both the classroom and firehouse by demonmstrating:
-
Commitment to academic success
-
Dedication to drills, training, and depatment activities
-
Respect, teamwork, and leadership
Being a junior at LLVFD is a privilege. Our juniors represent the department at school, at home, and within the community. We are committed to mentoring them and helping grow into capable future firefighters.
Through education, training, and service, we are building the next generation leaders for LLVFD.
